The important discovery of Emotional Deprivation Disorder (originally called the Frustration or Deprivation Neurosis), a syndrome resulting from a lack of affirmation in life, is discussed in this book. The authors’ describe the symptoms and the treatment of this syndrome as well as what can be done to prevent it. It is a condensed version of the authors’ book Loving and Curing the Neurotic, a psychiatric book which was published in 1972. Loving and Curing the Neurotic was edited and revised and republished in two editions: Healing the Unaffirmed and Psychic Wholeness and Healing.

This book is geared for a wide audience—lay persons, mental health professionals and those involved in Christian ministry and the moral formation of others. Edited and revised in 2002 so that the book is compatible with current psychological terminology. 221 pages.
